Scotland

Maths

 this week for maths we have been looking word problems and all that stuff today we had to make are on word problems. me and my good mate Jayden did one together we did one about a mum and his son frank and  he throws his mum compert on the ground and then we had  to guess the estimate of how much he had to pay to get a new one

haka

 For Inquiry, we had to write about the haka the presentation of the haka the design of the haka and the use of the haka for a presentation they did it when they won a war its a war dance. now they do it for sport and at a funeral or at the marae. I hope you like it and see you next week 

Reading

 this week for  reading we had to find the theme in a movie we had to  found the theme in Nemo  and then I had to do the same thing with zootopia we had to find a theme which I did was conflict when the animals did not like each other and they started to fight we had to say the author believes that and then take that out and we've got out then I hope you've learnt something today

g' day there blogger this week for Math about the time we had to make an analogue and digital clock in Minecraft we had the morning to make it I made it with Oliver and Jayden we made the time 15.31 in  24 hour time and the time for that is 3.31 and the time for the next clock was the same 3.31. Science experiment

This week we had to do a Science experiment with 6 different powerd we had to put the solvent solvents at the same time we had six people to put them in our it would be an unfair test we had to write a scientific report like all the time we had to do all the thing like hypostasis, materials, wondering, results observe and the conclusion we did a bit of it every day so it would be done at the end of the week. The big bad wolf !!!!!!

 I think that wolves are preditors to a lot of animals because they're killing life stocks all over the world and ruining Farmer's animals. But on they started a trophic Cascade in Yellowstone National Park in the 90s they eradicated most of the herbivores in Yellowstone National Park and most of them run away to a different place when the wolves were. 

I think that wolves are good because they stop some of the herbivores that where eating all of the plants and the green life then the wolves came and killed the herbivores or they ran away because they were scared of the wolves. And the wolves should be in the wild where they need to kill the animals that are destroying the wild

 Hello, readers this week for maths we have been doing odds of things we did the odds of coin flips we had to do a tree diagram to find out 27 outcomes it was hard at because I did not know what a tree diagram tell then.

 Hi blogger on Wednesdays we have doing  coding we had to make PSA or public service announcement I did my on littering have you done coding at school it was hard at first but it got better because I learned  more and more I like doing the ACIC coding I hope you like my code

 This week we had to make minecart wold of Yellowstone National Park we had to make a bit of when they're werewolves and when the wolves were not there before 1995 the world with the wolf there was a lot of trees and animals like beers wolves birds and Eagles and a lot more. this is my video of my world I hope you like it.

science experiment

 What's up bloggers this week we have been a science experiment with carbonate liquid and mentos we had five drinks cheap lemonade Diet Coke Lemonade and life. We had 13 mentos and a 1.5-litre bottles we had to stand back and count down from 5..4..3..2...1 the mentos went in the we were ready for the reaction it went up we all said Woah excitement. this is my slide

Samoan animation

 This is the Samoan animation that I did on Wednesday you had to make a conversation in Samoan and we have to translate it into English it was quite hard because I didn't know Samoan and I hope you enjoyed the animation

All about oil

 Oil is in and around our world, even in places you wouldn’t imagine. We use oil for cooking but we also use crude oil. The pumping and transporting of crude oil around the globe often have environmental effects. We have looked at various texts and videos to learn about some of these effects, and it ‘good’ timing as there was a recent oil spill (24 July 2020) in Mauritius that we could investigate.

Parachute test

 This week we have been making parachutes for our rockets that we are being that we had been doing from inquiry. The materials that we used was a piece of fabric, tape, string, and two hex nut so it had a bit more weight to it. When we drop it off we had to make it the slowest so we win and we had to make it land the circle. For the test we did well we were making it was that we would drop it off a chair and see how fast it would we and if it was fast we would fix the parachute.

Week 2 create

What's up guys for this create we had to do it on a science experiment we did with 7 different liquids to see which one would melt the faster. My hypothesis was that the vinegar one wouldn't melt the quickest because the vinegar has acid in it and the acid would eat away from the ice but I was wrong the normal water one with 14 minutes and 14 seconds and the vinegar one came second with 39 minutes and 20 seconds. see you next week.

Hello there what I am going to show is a slide that we had to on an experiment with an aspin tablet that was a hole  and one  that was crushed up my hypothesis was that the crush not from was gonna be so fast because it had more surface area and the one that was not crushed up at least surface area and will take longer to dissolve

Hi bloggers today we are learning about the southern lights we are also we are making an art piece on the do you know about the southern lights. The southern lights are gas from the sun that is moving at a speed of 750 kilometres per second That is fast. the colour of the lights can be green red, orange, yellow, violet, and blue. 

the can be found of the more and south poles they have also been found in mars, Jupiter and Uranus. The lights can move all around and sometimes when it's light outside they people get confused with the clouds and the southern lights. 

Do you know what a deeper question is

When reading a book, have you ever been curious about something you were reading, and wanted to find out more to help you understand what you were reading better?  We have been learning about how important this is this week in Literacy.

When we read The Magic School Bus inside the human body’ I formed some advanced questions using ‘how’ and ‘why’.  I made sure they were open ended questions that would help me understand the book more.  An example of one of my questions was “Why are intestines coiled up?’ and I then researched and found out that an adults intestine is 7.5m long, so it needs to coil up so that it fits in the body.

Next we got to chose our own book to read out of our virtual library and we had to form 3 advanced questions about it.  Our create task this week was to share these in a creative way.  I chose to do it with Renderforest and it was about a book called ‘In the blood’

I really enjoyed this task as it made me realise how important it is to do this when reading to understand the text better.

his week for literacy we have been learning about inferencing and show not tell.  When we read something, we automatically start making inferences, so it is important when we write that we give clues in our writing that allow people to make inferences.  We want to show them - not tell them.

For example:  Paul was frustrated when he got to the bus stop and realised he had just missed the bus.  But instead I could write “Running as fast as he could, Paul turned the corner only to see the back of the bus as it pulled away.  Throwing his bag down on the ground and sighing out loud, Paul realised that he had no choice, but to sit and wait for the next bus to arrive - 20 minutes from now”  You can infer from me saying ‘throwing his bag down and sighing out loud’ that he is frustrated.

Our task was to create a video that accompanied a piece of writing about an elderly man.  We used Adobe Spark to do this.

inferencing

This week we have been looking carefully at making inferences when we read or watch something.  

The text that we read a snippet out of was ‘The Twits’ by Roald Dahl.

Once we had read the first few chapters where they described the main characters, Mr and Mrs Twit, we then had to make some inferences based on the clues that Roald Dahl had given in the text.

I used Google Draw to create a display of my inferences I have made about Mr and Mrs Twit.

here is my example of mind

In literacy we have been reading Going Solo by Roald Dahl. It tells his story from where Boy left off. 

He went to Africa to work for The Shell Company and he has many adventures there. Some of these are really funny. 

He then joined the RAF to fly in WW2. 

We have recreated a part of the story where his plane crashes in the desert. He manages to survive although he is blinded by the crash and badly injured. He does get his sight back eventually.

Going Solo is a great novel that I would recommend you read.

this week work

for reading last week we had to do an information report on giraffe I found a lot of stuff. we also had to make a word art about giraffe we had to find words to describe them like elegant.





yesterday we had to write about going solo from Roald Dahl when he was in the RAAF flying a tiger moth in the air and we had to write what it felt like being in it and this is what I did

What I did today

Today I did the the presentation on a person that I look up to and I did Steven Adams.  I did my 30 minutes of reading I'm reading Diary of a Wimpy Kid 'The Ugly Truth' and went for a bike ride. I also did 30 minutes of maths playground.  29 days to go!

What i have been doing well we are all stuck in isolation!!!!

I have been going for bike rides for my 2 days in isolation i have also been playing NBA 2k19 with my brother.  My dad has been at work because hes an essential worker and my mum works from home so i have someone to look after me.   Playing basketball in my driveway and riding my bike is keeping me entertained.

Today i have done my 30 minute of reading,math playground, have gone for a bike ride  and a run. for writing i have told you what i have done to keep myself entertained drain isolation.


I hope you are doing fine and not go in psycho do this for weeks bye for now i will see you next week
